Steve Exeter

Steve Exeter is a British writer, producer and director whose work spans film and literature, with a focus on original, visually distinctive storytelling.He began his career as an actor, performing on stage and developing a strong foundation in character and performance, before transitioning into filmmaking to pursue a broader creative vision.He is best known for writing, producing and directing the award-winning short film Òran na h-Eala (2022), an experimental exploration inspired by the inner world of ballerina Moira Shearer. The film achieved significant success on the international festival circuit, receiving multiple awards for direction, cinematography and performance.As a producer, Exeter has developed and overseen independent film projects, combining creative direction with a practical understanding of production and delivery. His wider development slate includes original screen projects such as Severus: The Black Caesar and Full Bodied, reflecting his interest in character-driven narratives with strong thematic identity.In parallel with his film work, Exeter is the author of the Francine Witt Mystery series, creating original intellectual property with adaptation potential across screen and publishing.
