Ruth was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Hugh Hershey Kissane and Ruth Elizabeth (Forry) Kissane. She was a highly respected animator in Hollywood. She worked in all the major studios, including Disney, Playhouse Pictures, Bill Melendez Productions, Film Roman, and Chuck Jones Enterprises.
