Pat Rainey

The daughter of a Boston attorney, Pat Rainey was a jazz singer and actress whose career was compromised both by Jim Crow and an addiction to narcotics. She eventually went to Paris where she sang in clubs and appeared on the stage. She returned to the United States in the late '60s to her native Boston where she lived in obscurity.
